News: July - December 2006Saturday 30th
December 2006: First, the poll that has ended: Which has been the best The Sims 2 Expansion so far? The answer is Pets, according to 29.17% of you. To see the full results, go to the Quick Polls page. Now, the poll that
has just begun: What part of Seasons are you most looking forward to? Go to
almost any other page on the website to vote.

December 2006: Firstly, the
previous results. Last month I asked: Now, the new poll.
This time, I want to know:
Sunday 12th November
2006:
The Sims Life
Stories: A new game has been sort-of revealed. Well, the name anyway - "The
Sims Life Stories". There is no other information available at this time. More Pets Reviews: GameSpy and IGN have each added reviews of The Sims 2 Pets. IGN says "Pets is hands-down the least significant and useful of the Sims 2 expansion packs" and "the lack of clothing options for human Sims and the lack of new, non-pet-related objects really hurts", and give it 7.4 ("Decent") out of 10. GameSpy says "the
real issue with [Pets] is that it doesn't contribute a lot of additional
gameplay" and "Unless you're really into dog breeding, nothing really
substantial is added to the core game". GameSpy gave Pets 3 out of 5 ("Fair")
The Sims 2
Festive Holiday Stuff - And Happy Holiday Mini-Pack?:
Here in the UK,
Festive Holiday Stuff, featuring "60 items of festive fun" seems to have been
released, as it is available at GAME, although there is no listing on either
EA's website, or The Sims 2 UK. According to TheSims2.com, it, known as "Happy
Holiday Stuff" over there, has not been released yet. There is something
interesting on the page that I got that from though, as it says that a "Mini
Pack" will also be released, so people who bought last year's holiday pack can
only get the new items, rather than paying for the main stuff pack which
contains mostly items from said previous pack.
Update: I've downloaded EA
Link (successor to EA Downloader) and "The Sims 2 Festive Holiday Mini Pack" is
available for £3.99. TheSims2.com says it is only available using EA Link.
Hilary Duff Video
Interview: The Sims 2 UK has posted a video interview with Hillary Duff
about The Sims 2 Pets and her chihuahua, Lola. Click below to view it.
The Sims 2
Festive Edition Announced: EA Games have announced The Sims 2 Festive
Edition, which is basically The Sims 2 with an extra 40 items for Christmas and
News Years. I can't confirm at this time whether it is any different to last
year's one.
Monday 6th November
2006: Just click that little contribute link under the news title, and you could see your name where it says mine below. Make sure its The Sims related though. Go on, help me
inform the world about The Sims related news. Saturday 11th
November 2006: Firstly, how well does the nanny take care of babies in The Sims 2? Well, adequately according to the majority of you lot - although badly was pretty close behind. See the full results on the Quick Polls page. Now, onto the new!
This month, I want to know whether you prefer cats or dogs, after the recent
release of The Sims 2 Pets. To vote, all you have to do is go to the Quick Polls
page, or browse the website randomly until you find one of those boxes (of
course if you're here for something specific, maybe you shouldn't be random). Sunday 22nd October
2006:
Got Pets? Want
celebrity? Download Hillary Duff and Lola now!: Hillary Duff and Lola are
now available to download from the official Exchange.
Pets Released:
The Sims 2 Pets is available now in most good stores, as well as on EA
Downloader. Friday 13th October
2006:
Another four Pets
screenshots: Maxis have released a further four Pets screenshots, which
makes my total 37 (compared to TheSims2.com's 23). Click below to view them.
Hillary Duff and
Lola available from online Exchange: Just a quick post to clarify that
Hillary Duff and her Chihuahua will be available to download from the online
Exchange, and not come with the game.
Pets Music
Samples: A sample of a track each from The Pussycat Dolls, The Flaming Lips
and Aly & AJ, which will feature in The Sims 2 Pets, have been added to
TheSims2.com. Click below to listen to them, and read a quote about the
recording experience and The Sims 2 in general from each group. Saturday 7th October
2006: New Quick Poll and Previous Results: The previous Quick Poll, asking whether you've bought the stuff packs, has ended, and the results are in. Read them on the Quick Polls page. As that one has
ended, I've started a new Quick Poll as a replacement. What's the question this
month? Well, I want to know what you think of the nannies in The Sims 2. So,
whatever you think, you need to vote on almost any page except this one. Saturday 30th
September 2006: Wednesday 20th
September 2006:

2006:
Behind the Scenes
of Glamour Life Stuff: TheSims2.com has posted an article that "lets you in
on some of the behind-the-scenes secrets".
Glamour Life Stuff released: The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff is in stores
now and that's a guarantee - because I've bought a copy from WHSmith (and seen
it in Woolworths). I haven't installed it yet though, so I can't guarantee it's
actually good. Why haven't I installed it yet? Well, if its anything like Family
Fun Stuff, there'll be loads of bugs, so I'm waiting a bit to see if a patch is
released first. I've given some online stores you can buy it from below (in
order of price including delivery charge):
Use FilePlanet? Now you can download my houses from Planet The Sims!:
I
have added all my The Sims 2 houses to Planet The Sims, so you now have an extra
choice on where to download my houses from. You probably require a subscription
to FilePlanet to download from Planet The Sims, although please correct me if
I'm wrong! Oh, and don't worry The Sims Resource users - my houses are still on
there too. Saturday 2nd
September 2006:
