EA Paradies Iron Man In New Ambitions Video (Updated)

EA has given RadarOnline.com an exclusive released a video parodying Iron Man 2 and other super heroes created in The Sims 3 and its expansion packs, including Ambitions. They used the robot that you can create in Ambitions to represent Iron Man himself (see right). I can’t embed the video here, so you’ll need to go to the website to view it by clicking below:

Update: EA has now put the video on YouTube, so you can watch it right here:
GameSpot Questions Grant Rodiek On The “Heroic” Careers In Ambitions

GameSpot has posted a new Q&A about the “heroic” careers in The Sims 3 Ambitions with associate producer Grant Rodiek:
GS: How does the medical career go beyond the options in the original game?
GR: Doctors in Ambitions can exit the hospital to save lives during emergencies (such as a woman choking at the bistro), provide free health clinics and inoculations in the community, or provide experimental medicines to the community. Not everything is entirely ethical, but who are we to tell players that?

Grant Rodiek Discusses The Heroic Careers In Ambitions, With Three New Screenshots

A new article written by Grant Rodiek has been posted on TheSims3.com, discussing the more heroic careers in The Sims 3 Ambitions: firefighter, private investigator and doctor:
Firefighting was the first career we settled on for The Sims 3 Ambitions. It was such a huge challenge and natural fit for our neighborhoods that there was little discussion on the “why,” though this didn’t solve the issues of the “how.” Fires have always been more of a nuisance in our games, so it was clear from the start that we wanted them to be big, dangerous, frantic – and fun!
Clicking the first link below will take you to the article, but only if your language there is English > United States – you can change the language using the second link, but you’ll probably need to return here afterwards to get to the article (by clicking the first link):

The article brings with it three new screenshots, which you can of course also view over on the Screenshots tab:

Renault Cars Come To The Sims 3

The Renault Twizy ZE and (by the looks of things) some other Renault cars, as well as some ”sustainable environmental items” will soon be available to download for The Sims 3, for free, according to CVG:
The Renault’s Twizy Z.E Concept car will be available this Spring in an ‘Electric Vehicle Pack’ (EVP) with a number of sustainable environmental items including solar panels and a windmill.
Not only will the EVP ease your Sim’s conscience but also their financial burden by reducing their weekly virtual household bills.
Here’s a video that accompanied the announcement:
That’s not all though – click “read more” or scroll down if you’re already in the full news post for a short video of a sim-ified “Stephen Norman” introducing the car, or go to CVG for more screenshots of the Twizy ZE.

Current Poll Extended To 1st May

Due to a probable all-time-low number of votes, the current poll, asking whether you have bought or are planning to get The Sims 3 Design & High-Tech Stuff / High-End Loft Stuff, has been extended until 1st May. In the event there’s a massive turnaround and I’ve actually received enough votes by then, that’s the date I’ll reveal the results. Not voted yet? Well why not? Do so now to the right of any page.
New Ambitions Screenshot Shows Unhappy Makeover Recipient

EA has released another new The Sims 3 Ambitions screenshot, showing someone who doesn’t seem entirely happy with their makeover:

Ambitions: Two Interviews With Grant Rodiek

GameSpot has posted a new Q&A with associate producer Grant Rodiek, focusing on the creative careers in The Sims 3 Ambitions:
GS: How does the tattoo artist career develop over time? Do you end up unlocking more elaborate tattoos as you advance? Any possibility for full-body or “sleeve” tattoos?
GR: The tattoo chair is an object your sim can use to earn a bit of side money; most of the creativity comes at the hands of the player picking the tattoos. All of them are unlocked from the start, so the only limiting factor is the player’s creativity and the occasional “failure tattoo.”

NowGamer has also questioned Grant, discussing some more general topics such as this:
Do you think we’ll ever see the Sims distributed in a different way, such as returning to the online MMO model?
Currently we’re focused 100% on The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 Ambitions. The Sims 3 really took off in 2009 and we plan to continue that momentum with fantastic updates for our fantastic community.
…Though it is mostly about Ambitions, particularly the creative careers again.

“The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition” Spotted On Play.com

“The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition” has been spotted on shopping website Play.com, with no other details bar a price of £29.99 and a release date of 4th June 2010. The Sims 3 Ambitions is planned to be released in June – is this to “commemorate” the launch of that? Or the 10th anniversary? Or 125 million (or more by now) copies sold? I’ll tell you when I find out.
