EA Singapore has revealed a Commemorative Edition of The Sims 3 Ambitions on their Facebook group:
This high-quality 48-page hardcover edition contains exclusive interviews of important persons and the development history of The Sims. Also included are extras such as a cool poster, sketches, artwork, access to more digital content, new facts and interesting facts about The Sims. The Sims ™ 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack is also included!
It is unknown whether this will be released outside Singapore, or whether it relates to (or is a new name for) “The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition” which was spotted last month. See more photos of it by clicking below:

GameSpot Demo, Preview Ambitions

GameSpot has posted an exclusive hands-on preview of The Sims 3 Ambitions, focusing this time on the ghost hunter and inventor professions:
As you might expect, bustin’ ghosts requires you to work odd hours (you’ll start off at about 5:00 p.m. in game time and work until the wee hours of the morning). The meat and potatoes of the profession are “spirit collecting” jobs that require you to don your ectoplasm-stained jumpsuit, hop into a cab, and travel across town to an infested house.
Included in the article is a demo with producer Melanie Lam, which shows a bit of the architecture and firefighter professions, and can also be watched below:

It is fascinating to study the demographics of “God games”, simulation games, in particular, the Sims franchise. The player is in charge of everything from making sure his sim is fed, has enough rest, is kept comfortable and happy, so that his job performance doesn’t suffer. With Sims 2, the game took a huge leap forward, with the addition of memories and “aspirations” to give more depth to the characters in the game.

GamePro Preview Ambitions, Reveal Laundry

The onslaught of The Sims 3 Ambitions previews continues with GamePro, who reveal that Sims can now do laundry, and that there will be a Junkyard and Consignment Shop in the new town:
Laundry: You knew this day would come; the premier life simulation game couldn’t avoid laundry forever. Ambitions, however, allows players to opt-out of the nasty chore of washing, drying, and putting away clothes by attaching the function to washer/dryer machines and the clothesline item. Don’t buy any of those and your Sims won’t need to do laundry.
Worth reading.
