GamesRadar has posted an exclusive chat with Grant Rodiek, who discusses celebrities in The Sims 3 Late Night:

GR: Why did The Sims team decide to introduce celebrities in Late Night?

Rodiek: Several reasons. Celebrities make for fantastic storytelling – they are hilarious, bizarre, charming, sexy – who doesn’t want to be all of those things. Openness and humor are our trademarks so it’d be a mistake to pass up celebrities.

GamesRadar has posted a new preview of The Sims 3 Late Night, focusing on the vampires:

There’s something off about the color of her skin and when we zoom in for a closer look, we can see a hint of fang in her grin just below her smoldering bloodshot eyes. [Grant] Rodiek draws attention to his Sim’s moodlet. “Basically, when you’re around vampires you don’t know, your Sim gets a moodlet called ‘Hunted.’ And this is to encourage you to either leave or to befriend them – because once you befriend them, you won’t get this anymore. And of course, if you’re a vampire, you won’t be ‘Hunted’ you will be the ‘Hunter’.”

GameSpot has posted an exclusive hands-on preview of The Sims 3 Late Night:

Late Night will have a “hotspot” system that highlights which of the town’s clubs will be the most crowded and which will be flat-out empty.

The hotspot system plays into several of Late Night’s new features, such as the new “celebrity level.” All sims can gain up to five levels of notoriety (indicated by a 5-star meter that floats above each one’s head).
