GamesRadar’s Resident Horse Gets The Skinny On Horses In Pets

GamesRadar’s Senior Wildlife Editor B. Buttercup has posted an interview with The Sims 3 Pets assistant producer Ryan Vaughan, focusing on the horses — an unsurprising focus considering B. Buttercup is one:

Buttercup: So I’m a horse, playing The Sims 3 as a horse. What can I do?
Vaughan: The racing and jumping skills are two of my favorite new features for horses. Using the really cool variety of different horse jumps and training posts you can place on your lot in Buy Mode, but the coolest thing about these skills is that you can actually have your horse compete in equestrian competitions at the brand new Equestrian Center. If your horse has high racing and jumping skills you can actually win a lot of money. You can also build the new riding skill for Sims while practicing your horse skills as well!

Pets Digital Townhall Now Available To Watch On-Demand

The Sims 3 Pets Digital Townhall is now available to watch on-demand in three parts. The first part includes a demo of the PC and Mac expansion pack which starts at about 35:10:

If you want to watch the whole event, it actually doesn’t start until about 18:50 (they really need to trim this video down a bit, although if they do the time I’ve noted the demo as starting at will be wrong).

Create A Pet Demo Now Available On Origin

Watch Pets Town Hall Here (Updated)

Current Poll Extended To 4th October

The current poll asks whether you bought Barnacle Bay, the last non-free town released on The Sims 3 Store — “Sim Gamer” bothered to vote, and gave the following explanation for their “No” choice:

I thought it as to expensive and then also from seeing many reviews in youtub I realized that it wasn’t worth it, but I am really looking orward to the new town

If you haven’t bothered to vote, then it’s your fault that I’ve had to extend the poll again due to a lack of them. Right your wrong, vote now on the right of any page — then maybe when the poll is due to close on Tuesday 4th October, I’ll actually be able to do so and reveal some results.

How Dogs And Horses Are Voiced In Pets

Hard-working professionals (who usually stand on two feet) are paid to sound like dogs and, now horses in the video game series The Sims 3 Pets. Today, we present footage of some of their work.

We also present a twist in the world of video game animal sounds: for this October’s The Sims 3 Pets, the game’s creators are merging the voice-acting of humans and animals. How? Why? Watch, listen, learn and see if you can tell human from beast.

Ask Your Pets Questions In Video And Vote For What Gets Answered

EA want your questions for The Sims 3 Pets Digital Town Hall, and they want them as YouTube videos:

Submit your video questions here and yours could be chosen to be played and answered at The Sims™ 3 Pets Digital Town Hall! Remember, keep the questions The Sims 3 Pets related!

To ask a question, first you need to upload a video to YouTube, then go to TheSims’s Channel and type in your question. You’ll then be able to paste the address (URL) of your video and submit. Though the question submission software says videos are optional, EA’s description suggests they’ll only answer video questions, so if you want your question answered, you’d be best to put it in video. You can also vote for which questions you want answered, or indeed which questions you don’t want answered, by going through the questions and clicking the thumbs up or thumbs down icons.

Pets “Digital Town Hall” Announced (Updated)

EA has announced a “The Sims 3 Pets Digital Town Hall”. It will take place on Thursday 22nd September (two weeks today) between 9 am and 2 pm. Which time zone? It doesn’t say, but most previous events have been given in Pacific Time, and if that’s the case here, then I think that means it’s between 5 pm and 10 pm BST. Anyway, what’s it actually about? Start quote!

Join us as we unveil secrets and exclusive reveals of The Sims 3 Pets! Producers from The Sims 3 Pets on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo 3DS will present live demos of the game across these platforms. Tune in to find out what tricks we have up our sleeves (or paws) and for your chance to receive some treats as part of our random giveaways.

It sounds like it’ll be like the previous live broadcasts then.
