It’s been a month since The Sims 3 Ambitions was released, and reviews seem to have pretty much stopped, so I think now is a good time to wrap-up my reviews coverage. I won’t post any more articles about reviews here, but you can still see if I’ve found any as I’ll continue to add them to the Reviews tab - changes that’ll of course be noted on the Updates page.

The Metascore is currently 75 based on 17 reviews, but I think it’s unlikely to change much in the event more are added. This is worse than World Adventures, which got a ’score of 81, and the base game, which got a ‘score of 86. This is also worse than most The Sims 2 expansion packs, with only Bon Voyage and FreeTime getting lower ‘scores than Ambitions (Apartment Life drew).

The Ranking at GameRankings currently stands at 78.58%. That’s based on six reviews but probably won’t change that much if they find any more. This is lower than World Adventures’s Ranking, which stands at 82.78%, and the base game’s, which is 86.90%. Comparing it to The Sims 2 expansion packs, this is a better Ranking than the ones attained by the Nightlife, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage and FreeTime, but worser than the ones attained by University, Open for Business (it’s semi-equivilent) and Apartment Life.

Andrew Stone, the face of Starman who was not long ago immortalised as a Sim, has now recorded his song “I Don’t Wanna Dance” in Simlish – you can see him in the recording studio in the video below:

The face of Starman, and a star of UK TV series Pineapple Dance Studios has been immortalised as a Sim which EA will make available on The Sims 3 Exchange:

Seen as the embodiment of ambition and determination, the creators of The Sims have decided to catapult Andrew to global stardom ahead of the release of The Sims 3 Ambitions on June 4th 2010. The Sims is the world’s biggest PC franchise and has sold over 125 million games since its launch in 2000. For ambitious Andrew this marks another milestone on his meteoric rise to success and will open him up to a fan base of millions across the world.

You can see him meet his Sim in this video:

He will record his song “I don’t Wanna Dance” in Simlish as well.

A new article has been added to TheSims3.com detailing the “wackier side of [The Sims 3] Ambitions” – the inventor and ghost hunter professions:

The back cover of the The Sims 3 Ambitions box has been found on US retailer GameStop. It contains three new screenshots, but no new details – view it by clicking below then clicking the “View Back of Box” link below the front cover on the left:

EA Singapore has revealed a Commemorative Edition of The Sims 3 Ambitions on their Facebook group:

This high-quality 48-page hardcover edition contains exclusive interviews of important persons and the development history of The Sims. Also included are extras such as a cool poster, sketches, artwork, access to more digital content, new facts and interesting facts about The Sims. The Sims ™ 3 Ambitions Expansion Pack is also included!

It is unknown whether this will be released outside Singapore, or whether it relates to (or is a new name for) “The Sims 3: Commemorative Edition” which was spotted last month. See more photos of it by clicking below:

I’ve just found the UK box art for The Sims 3 Ambitions on EA UK’s press website – and it’s slightly different to the US one I reported about earlier. Namely, the ghost in the top-right is more weird-looking (I would say anyway), the bottom-middle bit has another Sim, a completely different robot, and the Sim working on it is holding what looks like a chip rather than a blowtorch-thing, and in the bottom-right bit there’s no heart in the x-ray thing (plus the Sim being x-ray-ed in male rather than female), plus a few other more cosmetic tweaks. Compare them below (UK one on the left, US on the right, click either to view larger):

EA has revealed what you’ll see on the front of the box when you pick up The Sims 3 Ambitions – in the States anyway, art may vary in other locations, rating definitely will. And this is it (click it to make it go all bigger like):
